My High School Best friend betrayed me by saying nasty things about me in the past to new found friends?

My High School bestfriend invited me to join his weekly meetings yet as soon as I go home, I discovered that she keeps on saying nasty things about me in the past, like I was fat looks like a pig and she keeps on exaggerating things what was not really true. I am still chubby right now yet I'm not that bad looking after all,just a big nose I guess. To be honest, I was not overly popular in my High School years compared to others because my sister is not that good looking compared to other girls with their sisters. But I was really upset because of the things he said to me. Likewise some of my girlfriends leave me too when I was just in need of helping hand.Life seems so hard when you're not popular...Do you think so?
